TEQIP Introduction
Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) was envisaged as a long-term programme of about 10-12 years duration to be implemented in 2-3 phases for transformation of the Technical Education System with the World Bank assistance.
As per TEQIP design, each phase is required to be designed on the basis of lessons learnt from the implementation of an earlier phase. TEQIP-I started a reform process in 127 Institutions. The reform process needs to be sustained and scaled-up for embedding gains in the system and taking the transformation to a higher level. To continue the development activities initiated through TEQIP-I, a sequel Project is planned as TEQIP-II.
Objectives :
The Project has following objectives :
Strengthening Institutions to produce high quality engineers for better employability,
Scaling-up postgraduate education and demand-driven Research & Development and Innovation,
Establishing Centers of Excellence for focused applicable research,
Training of faculty for effective Teaching, and
Enhancing Institutional and System Management effectiveness.

Interaction With Industry
Management
T & P Office helps students for industrial visits, live projects from industries, internships.
T & P Office contacts various Industries and invites them for Campus Recruitments.
SPCE have signed an MoU with software giant, TCS, under their Industry Academia Interface program, Sangam.
TCS offers a platform where our students and Faculty Members undergo workshops and Faculty Development Programs.
TCS also offers Best Student Award, Best Student Project Awards and Student Internship Programs.
Institute explores the possibilities of supporting TCS in its learning, hiring and research requirements based on mutual convenience.
Impact
In-plant Training, Industry Projects, Industrial Visits give students opportunities of hands-on-experience and enhance their employability skills.
Every year approximately 99 % of the eligible students get placement in various prestigious Industries.

Finishing School
The institution has established a Finishing School as per the norms of TEQIP with an intention to increase institutional focus on providing academic guidance and support to the SC/ST/OBC and academically weak students.
The key activities under the aegis of this Finishing School are,
- Conducting remedial teaching throughout the academic sessions for improving transition rate and pass rate of students
- Conducting specialized soft skills and professional skills development training during semester breaks and vacations (preferably starting from 5th Semester onwards) for increasing employability,
- Conducting high intensity training (of at least 4-weeks duration) for development of soft and professional skills in the students that graduate but fail to secure any employment, and
- Organizing campus interviews and making other efforts to secure employment for graduate engineers.
The Finishing School is coordinated by Training & Placement Officer, Dr. Rahul T. Dahatonde.
