Credit Transfer Scheme

Transfer of Credit/Credit transfer/Advanced Standing are the terms used by colleges and universities for the procedure of granting credit to a student for educational experiences / courses undertaken at another institution. BVBs Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE) has signed MoU with few Autonomous institutes in the state of Maharashtra and shall sign such MoUs with other Autonomous institutes in future in order to benefit students who wish to pursue learning at other institutes as well. Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s (BVB’s), Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Andheri (West) Mumbai (www.spce.ac.in) has signed an academic agreement under CREDIT -TRANSFER SCHEME (CTS) with (1) Shri. Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology, (SGGSIET) Nanded, Maharashtra (https://www.sggs.ac.in), (2) Walchand College of Engineering (WCE) Sangli, Maharashtra (http://www.walchandsangli.ac.in) (3) Government College of Enginerring, Amaravati, (http://www.gcoea.ac.in/home) (4) Government College of Enginerring, Chandrapur, (http://www.gcoec.ac.in/gcoec/) (5) Government College of Enginerring, Nagpur (http://www.gcoen.ac.in/). Under this agreement; students are admitted to the undergraduate engineering programs at BVB’s SPCE Andheri (West) Mumbai in the second Year, Third Year and Final year of graduation. Student pursuing Post Graduate Courses can also undertake coursework at SPCE. Further in this agreement the students who are presently in second year, third year and fourth year and PG programmes; need to satisfy the academic requirements as per MoU signed between Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s (BVB’s), Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Andheri (West) Mumbai & (1) Shri. Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology, (SGGSIET) Nanded, Maharashtra; and (2) Walchand College of Engineering (WCE) Sangli, Maharashtra.

Guidelines for Credit Transfer

  • Credit transfer from other Autonomous Institute/University to SPCE Andheri (West) Mumbai and vice-versa is permitted with due procedure.
  • Interested students should apply in the prescribed format to their parent institute.
  • The performance of the students transferred under Credit Transfer Scheme (CTS) in a particular semester shall be considered as it is in lieu of the requirement of SPCE Andheri (West), Mumbai, SGGSIE&T NANDED / WCE Sangli.
  • On selection for CTS the candidate along with his/her parent/guardian will have to give an undertaking to the effect of sole responsibility and associated risks of undergoing CTS.

Student joining SPCE from other Autonomous Institute/University under CTS
(Credit transfer from SPCE Andheri (West) Mumbai to other Autonomous Institute/University)

Student studying in other Autonomous Institute/University can take transfer to BVB’s SPCE Andheri (West), Mumbai under the following conditions:

  • SPCE Mumbai has signed MOU with the Autonomous Institute/University.
  • Student, after seeking transfer from other Autonomous Institute/University under CTS shall return to parent autonomous institute/university after a semester or year.
  • Based on courses done under CTS in the SPCE Andheri (West) Mumbai; parent Autonomous Institute/University shall award equivalent credits/grades to such students.
  • Parent Institute shall identify students based on; those can be accepted under CTS scheme from amongst their bonafide students.
  • SPCE Mumbai shall decide number of students per UG Program per semester in the disciplines of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to avail CTS scheme.
  • These students may register only for the courses offered by the respective programme /department of SPCE Mumbai.
  • Course structure and content of program at SPCE Mumbai are displayed on web site www.spce.ac.in. Prerequisites if any, should be taken care by the concerned institute.
  • SPCE Mumbai may offer shared hostel accommodation to the students based on the availability.
  • The Institute fee for the semester under Credit Transfer Scheme (CTS) will be as per Institute norms time to time.
  • The student will be charged separate fees towards hostel accommodation and other living charges as applicable from time to time.
  • The student, when transferred from other Universities, has to stick to the rules and regulations of SPCE Mumbai.

SPCE student admitted to other Autonomous Institute/University under CTS
(Credit transfer from another Autonomous Institute/University to SPCE Mumbai)

Student studying in BVB’s SPCE Andheri (West), Mumbai can avail CTS from other Autonomous Institute/University and can take transfer under the following conditions:

  • At present students of SPCE Mumbai are admitted to (1) SGGSIET Nanded and (2) WCE Sangli for the Undergraduate Engineering/Post graduate programs.
  • Interested students should apply in the prescribed format and based on the merit students may be issued offer letter.
  • The performance of the students transferred under Credit Transfer Scheme (CTS) in a particular semester shall be considered as it is in lieu of the requirement of SPCE Mumbai.
  • In case the student rejoin institute with backlog during CTS, he/she has to register and clear equivalent heads of passing at SPCE Mumbai.
  • If a course studied under CTS is repeated either at SPCE Mumbai or the concerned institute under CTS (before or after) an appropriate decision/ recommendations of the corresponding academic board shall be applicable to the concerned student.
  • Minimum credit requirement as per the academic handbook of SPCE Mumbai must be complied.
  • On selection for CTS the candidate (SPCE Mumbai) along with his/her parent/guardian will have to give an undertaking to the effect of sole responsibility and associated risks of undergoing CTS.
