Partition Horrors Remembrance Day: 14 th August

Honourable Prime Minister in his speech on 15 th August 2021 at the Red Fort had declared 14 th August to be observed as partition horror remembrance day. The partition horror remembrance day has been envisaged to bring to light the agony suffering and pain of millions of people who were the sufferers of partition. It is to remind the country of largest displacement of the human population which also claimed the lines of large number of people.

To portray sufferings of the partition affected people a play has been curated by the National School of Drama (NSD).

This play is named as “Partition: A Catastrophe” and it is written by Dr. Prakash Jha.

The script of this play is designed to educate and raise awareness among students about the events of partition, the impact it had on millions of life, and the importance of remembering this chapter in our history.
